Fighting for job security
Most folks in New Westminster, rely on their jobs with companies big and small to support their families.
But when provincial government had a chance to do something to protect those jobs - to protect those workers’ wages and benefits - they did nothing.
Western Forests Products in New Westminster closed because the BC and federal government let the US have its way in a softwood lumber deal that sold out Canadian workers and their families. Skilled aircraft maintenance jobs are allowed to go from Vancouver to El Salvador, laying off 700 workers.
Dawn opposes these sell-out international agreements conservatives are so keen on. She’s working hard to stop these policies from driving down wages in Canada and shipping our jobs overseas so corporations can make bigger profits while their workers are left in the cold. We need to keep good paying jobs here in Canada.
